About the Organizer

Sarah is Danielle’s older sister, and also has Cystic Fibrosis. She has been speaking about what it’s like to live with CF since the age of five at various events and has been a spokesperson for a number of campaigns, including the Zellers Moonwalk, the Toronto Blue Jays 65 Roses Sports Club, and the Toshiba Breath of Life Ski Challenge.
She has also volunteered at a number of successful local fundraising events, including the Haunted Hayride and Boo Barn, CarStar ‘Fright Lights’ Campaign, and the Bob Engley Slo-Pitch Tournament. At the age of 12, she organized a walk-a-thon at her elementary school that raised over $4,000 during the two years that it ran.
When Danielle passed away in 2008, Sarah knew that she wanted to do something to commemorate her sister’s spirit and passion, and in 2013, she finally decided that a gala event and fashion show was the perfect thing – after all, Danielle always wanted to be a fashion designer. Fashioning a Cure: A Gala Evening in Memory of Danielle Caterina was born, and has raised over $12,000 for CF research and care so far!
